I began blogging here in 2008. Several months later, I migrated over to a separate blog, which I named Yips and Howls. As I remember (which is not as easy as it once was), I mostly did that so I could fool around with wordpress and web design. I experimented with cross-posting writing stuff here, then decided to do all my blogging at Yips and Howls. That left this site — the site that was supposed to be my main website — sadly neglected and aimless.
Then I began marketing garlic and hogs at Amaranta Farm and had to have website and blog there too. That spread me too thin. Not knowing what to post where, I stopped posting much at all.
Now, with a better understanding of platform building, how websites and blogs work, and SEO, I’m consolidating my writer website and blog here, all in one place. I hope it inspires me to blog and maintain my site better. We’ll see.
I’ll continue building the farm website and blog at Amaranta Farm. There may be some overlap and cross-posting, but I think the differences will be easier to keep clear with only two sites, rather than three, to manage.
I’ve moved most of the old Yips and Howls posts here and will soon take Yips and Howls offline. Questions? Leave a comment below, and I’ll do my best to answer.
